Artsy Fartsy Valentine

With all the busyness of preparing for Eli and Myles being his last semester of nursing school (whoop!) I have not accomplished much on the crafty/ artistic front. My extra time has been spent on more re-organizing our tiny apartment for all the baby stuff that keeps flooding in.

It is seriously funny thinking of all the things we have in our one bedroom apartment. We have three pieces of furniture in our closet...I have no clue how Myles got our huge desk in there, but he did! We also have a dinning room table under our bed...we were running out of space in our apartment to walk, so we decided that we would simply do without a table for now.

Anywaysss... though I have not done anything new, I still would love to share some of my old stuff!

Last Valentines Day I surprised Myles with a painting. He had no clue I had been working on something. It was really fun to have him be totally surprised.

I really enjoyed painting this piece. It was just fun. I played around with different techniques and ideas I had until I was happy with how it came together. Since I have no experience or background in painting, it was really good to experiment and learn a little by just doing.

I hope you all had a great Valentines Day!

Eli Update

I am now 36 weeks! Wow. Time has flown, and I am glad it has! We can't wait to meet Eli. Just about ever night Myles tells Eli that he just needs to come on out already! Everyday we get closer and the thought of having a sweet little baby becomes more real! It has especially been getting more real to Myles as he is taking his OB class and clinical in nursing school right now. It is fun to hear all he is leaning about, and comforting to gets some "heads up" info to help us prepare.

Our boy sure is getting big! At 36 weeks he is about 6 lbs and 20 inches long, according to the updates I get from the What to Expect website. My next OB appointment is next week, and then I will go every week after that! The count down is on!

And speaking of big.... funny story. So last friday, Myles and I went to Roadhouse. (The picture above was taken that same day before we went out.) That friday was our snow day in College Station, and I think everyone decided to go out to eat. We waited for a while, the longest I have ever had to wait at RH. We finally got called to be seated, and one of the hostess girls showed us to our table. She was to seat us in one of the little booths. You know the ones that line the wall in the section that is a step or two higher than the rest of the restaurant? There is just room for one person on each side. Well...I go to sit down and....

I

didn't

fit!!

I tried the other side too and still the table was digging into my hard belly! I thought it was hilarious! I really didn't fit! We had to move to another booth. I am glad to say that I did fit into the normal sized booth without a problem :) For a slight second, I was a little embarrassed, sad, and couldn't believe I was too big for a booth.... but that thought was way overshadowed with laughter and excitement that our baby boy is almost here. Our family is now too big for a 2 person booth, and for that I am extremely thankful! It will just be nice when Eli is outside of my belly and the hostess knows we are a party of 3 before she tries to squeeze us into a 2 person booth :)

Mommy and Daddy love you baby boy!
