8 Months!

Wow! Eli is 8 months now! I know I say the same thing every month, but I just can't believe how fast these months are going by. Only 4 more months and he will be a year old...that seems way to close.

This month Eli has been learning a lot! We have also been able to see his personality even more this past month and that has been so fun! He is quite the little ham. This month we think he has come to realize that he is pretty darn cute and knows how to turn the cuteness on, oh boy are we in trouble! He loves to laugh and will even laugh at himself. He makes the funniest expressions and is very friendly to everyone he sees. Lately he has been doing this nodding thing were he nods big and blinks at the same time. We are trying to figure out what he is trying to imitate or do. We aren't quite sure, but it is hilarious!!

Eli's first time to ride in the shopping cart!

Goofy little face!

Eli loves bath time! Here he is being silly!

I said, "Eli, say cheese!"
...and no joke, this is what he did!

I love bath time!
For some reason,
he thought he was pretty funny making this face.
He did it over and over, lol!
And there are even more pictures of him doing this,
silly!
Crazy hair, always a fun thing during bath time.

His chattering is still lots of babbling, sometimes he will get going and talk to you for a long time! I think the only words he has added to his vocab this month were "dog" and "bye, bye". He told his Aunt Lindsey, "bye, bye" the other day, as she was leaving, perfectly. It stopped us both in our tracks with our mouths wide open.

Eli's curiosity has taken off this past month!! He loves to army crawl around and explore the house. The boy can move pretty fast too! Eli has been challenging me to keep everything really clean! He tries to put every little thing in his mouth! He uses his little fingers to try to pick up the smallest things, even tiny pieces of dirt and dust. His eye-hand coordination is pretty impressive! He also tires to pick the freckles off our skin, lol.

Eli "helped" me find out that his cousin Madalynn
had left her barbie's necklace at our house.
Eli found it and tried to eat it.

Eli still hasn't cut any teeth, but they have to be on their way. I'm sure you know apples are good for helping kids loose teeth, but apparently they are good for teeth that are coming in too. Eli, LOVES to chew on apple slices. He is a little apple chompper. Even though he doesn't have a single tooth yet, he can bite an apple and chew it to little pieces. I think chewing makes him feel like big stuff! I have been amazed at his apple eating skills.

Eating his apple!

As it has gotten a little cooler, we have enjoyed being able to let Eli wear his cute hats!!

Trying out his sock monkey hat!

Sporting his hat on the way to watch Lindsey
and the band at the Yamboree! He loved the bands!

At the church for worship practice!

Eli also learned to clap this month!

I absolutely love being a mom. Especially to a little cutie. Every night as I am reflecting on the day, or telling Myles something I just can't believe how cute this little boy is becoming. He is such a blessing and complete joy. I love our times in the morning when Myles is off and Eli is wallering back and forth between us in bed, wanting to play and snuggle with both of us. Its probably my favorite time of the day. We love you sweet boy and our sooo thankful for you!

Halloween Fun

Eli's first Halloween was filled with family and fun! This year we decided to dress up as kids in our pjs and Eli would be our sock monkey! And what a cute sock money he was!!

On saturday Eli and I went with 3 silly, yet lovely trolls to the Harvest Moon Carnival. We played games, saw some friends, and got lots of candy for cousin Madalynn. Myles met up with us after he got off work. After the carnival we headed to my parent's house to show them our cute little sock monkey.

The ballerina troll, fairy troll, and princess troll

Missy and Jennifer had fun dressing up! It was also Missy's Birthday, Happy Birthday!

Mr. Sock Monkey!

Family pic at the carnival,

Yes, I had on *footed pajamas!
On Halloween day, Eli and I went to Myles's Nana's house to help pass out candy to trick-or-treaters, eat pizza, and visit with the family...which included a gypsy, bumblebee, witch, christmas kid waiting for santa, lumber jack, tree hugger, gnome, green lantern, dead pirate, other scary dead creatures, and others in their fun halloween duds. Myles joined in the fun after work again. He was a tired nurse this year for halloween...he never quite made it into his pj costume.

I hope you all had fun dressing up and ate lots of candy! Eli skipped on the candy, but he did get his first animal cookie, which he loved!!

*side note: I won't ever make Eli wear footed pajamas that seem to be a little too short for him...I now know from experience, its pretty annoying! ha

Pumpkins...Take 2

Myles's mom loves halloween for all of the costumes, pumpkins, and spooky fun...so when she heard about Eli's reaction to pumpkins, she had to give him another try! The saturday after fall family fun day Eli and I went with Myles's parents to Jordan's Farm. It was such a cute place, perfect for getting more pictures of Eli and a day full of more fall fun. However, we were sad that Myles had to work :(

Granny Boo was glad to see Eli was now loving the pumpkins. Maybe the first time, he just knew something was missing from his first pumpkin experience...his beloved Granny Boo!

Eli is a fan of fall and pumpkins now!!

We got so many great pictures of Eli in this sweet little chair.
Beware: picture overload :)

There was a tractor in the front so we had to get a few pics on that too!

Oh, what fun fall brings!

Fall Family Fun Day

This past week, we had our third annual Fall Family Fun Day with our good friends, the Mosiers. Every year we enjoy yummy fall food, pumpkins, good company, and lots of fun! This year was no exception! We started off the day with delicious pumpkin pancakes, let the boys play a bit, and then Carter and Eli got their first nap in while everyone got ready for lunch and the pumpkin patch. We were quite the crew at Cheddars, with a high chair, car set sling, and toddler :). After a lunch we went to the pumpkin patch, fun fun. We summed up the day with more nap time and play time. We ate awesome white chicken chili for dinner, and ended the night with a killer game of monopoly. It was a blast even though Myles beat us all with his high rise hotels.

Eli loved his first fall family fun day.....except for the pumpkins! We were looking forward to getting some cute pictures of Eli at the pumpkin patch with a pumpkin or two, and well... Eli was just not for that.

Eli's first encounter with a pumpkin...
not a hit!

Tried a different spot, different pumpkins...
still not a hit!

My handsome hubby

Well if we can't get a picture with pumpkins,
we can just take some with out!

Tasting the grass, now Eli did like that!

silly

Hi!

Picture with mom :-)
(see where his teeth are about to come in!)

Eli also liked sitting on the rocks by the pots for us to take pictures.

Cute, slobbery boy

Handsome

On our way out, we thought one more try.
Maybe he has calmed down
and will like the pumpkins now?....nope.

Only a fan of pumpkins from a safe distance!
Although we didn't get a cute pumpkin picture we did get some cute pictures of our own little pumpkins playing together!

Eli and Carter!
Lets both eat the block!

Looking up at Matt

Cute friends!
Thanks for another great FFFD, Matt, Erin, Cade and Carter! We are already looking forward to next year!
