Eli is 11 months!

Sweet boy!

This past month Eli has been growing a lot and doing so many new and fun things!

He stood by himself for the first time! It was only because he was concentrating on something else. This boy is cautious! As soon as he realized what he was doing he slowly made is way to the ground. I am just fine with him being careful, I know these days will flee fast as my boy grows up and starts to make me worry about the crazy things he tries to do.

Myles got a ukelele for his birthday.
Eli may have thought it was his personal sized guitar!

Eli is such a smart boy, even from the beginning we could just tell he was a very intelligent baby. Eli has learned how to build with his mega blocks! He can clap when asked, no demonstration needed. He can touch his nose and our noses when asked where they are. (of corse he doesn't always want to do these tricks...but he definitely knows how!) He can also touch his stuffed Lorax's  eyes. Eli also LOVES books. He will look at them for a long time and can even point somethings out when asked!

Building!

Whoa, don't fall!

Eli is in love with dogs! He loves to go outside and see the dog. He also know what the dogs says! It is so cute to hear him bark, just precious! Eli also loves music! He will sing and dance along, just as happy as can be!

Playing on the back porch!

With Eli loving being out doors, we have enjoyed the nice January weather!....Strange to say, but this is Texas. We will take spring weather any month of the year! We got to go outside a lot and took another trip to the zoo. Eli is loving the animals more and more every time we go!

Hang time with dad!

Enjoying the outdoors with a wheel-barrow ride!

Eli loved it!

This month Eli spent his first weekend away from Mommy and Daddy. Myles and I spent a weekend away in the DFW area and enjoyed our time hanging out, just the two of us very much! We also got to meet up with some friends for a couple hours which was a blast. We loved catching up with Monica and Steve! While we were gone, Eli stayed with Myles's parents and did great! We were all happy to see each other when we returned home on Sunday!

We sent Eli this pic while we were gone :)

Eli is playing really well these days, but the boy does not like to be left to himself! If I leave the room to clean, go to the bathroom, or put something away he will come find me. It is pretty cute, and makes this mama feel very loved by her boy.

Crazy kid :)

Speaking of playing, Eli and I built our first fort this month! With sponge-bob sheets....double cool! Eli loved it but he still has a lot to understand and appreciate about the magic of a fort. This time he was most interested reading books inside of it and in crawling in and out of the tent... and once inside trying to touch the top and make it come down! Fun times.

Blurry shot, but thats what happens
when Eli tries to take down the fort!

Eli has starting crawling on all fours more this month, but he still prefers his army crawl if he wants to get somewhere in a hurry!

Eli cut his top two teeth this month! They came in without a fuss, and not as much slobber as the bottom 2!

If you look close, you can see his top two teeth!

Over the holidays, we had gotten off track with Eli's bedtime and I am glad to say that this month we have put in the work to get it back on track! It is so nice for Eli to be in bed by at least 8, allowing Myles and I to have some time together at the end of the day. Yay for bedtime!

I can't believe this year is going by so fast....by my next Eli post he will be a year old. Wow. How time flies when you are having fun!

We love you little man!

Eli is 10 months!

This post seems a little funny because I am way behind! Though I haven't updated the blog each month, I have been jotting down things to keep my memory fresh on what Eli has been up to each month! Eli turned 10 months January 2, so to keep the same format I will let you know what he was doing the past month December (while he was 9 months).

Cutie pie!

First and foremost, Eli LOVED all things about christmas!! He loved all the lights and absolutely loved our Christmas tree. After we got it up Myles parents came by, and as soon as Eli was in their arms he was pointing and oowwing to show them the Christmas tree. It was precious. He did this to anyone who came over during December.

Helping decorate the Christmas tree. He took all the
ornaments from Dad and handed them to Mom!

Another thing Eli LOVED about this month was getting to play with his little people nativity set! He played with it all the time and it was funny to find wisemen and baby Jesus in various places around the house.

Eli LOVES his little people nativity set!

So fun!

Yay, Baby Jesus!

Eli also enjoyed many Christmas programs, a parade, caroling, and christmas songs. He just loves music!!

Eli enjoyed his first sucker at the parade, thanks to Granny!

Ah! Don't tell, but Eli killed Santa...
well maybe just seriously injured

This month Eli started to pull up on everything! However, he is still rockin the army crawl for his main means of transportation.

He still loves eating lots of baby food and whatever big people food he can get!

Eli also enjoys occasionally eating his feet!
Yum!

Look at those cute little teethers!

Eli has started making car noises when playing with cars, or things that roll like cars. I was so impressed on how well he picked this up after one time of playing cars with Myles. I guess little boys just know what to do!

Eli enjoyed Christmas day! We could tell he knew something was up about us waking him up early in the morning and being excited. He was pumped too. He he didn't catch on to ripping wrapping paper open, so we were glad we didn't wrap much. He was excited to see what was inside though! He also loved going through his stocking. His favorite thing in it was an egg shaker we got at the music store. After he got that, he wanted everything he pulled out of his stocking to make noise.

Excited for Christmas morning
My boys!

After Christmas, Eli came down with his first cold. It was sad, but we made it through! Since then his nose has been on and off a fountain of snot....I guess it is that time of the year!

I love that cute face!

We love you growin' boy!
