Fall Family Fun Day

This past week, we had our third annual Fall Family Fun Day with our good friends, the Mosiers. Every year we enjoy yummy fall food, pumpkins, good company, and lots of fun! This year was no exception! We started off the day with delicious pumpkin pancakes, let the boys play a bit, and then Carter and Eli got their first nap in while everyone got ready for lunch and the pumpkin patch. We were quite the crew at Cheddars, with a high chair, car set sling, and toddler :). After a lunch we went to the pumpkin patch, fun fun. We summed up the day with more nap time and play time. We ate awesome white chicken chili for dinner, and ended the night with a killer game of monopoly. It was a blast even though Myles beat us all with his high rise hotels.

Eli loved his first fall family fun day.....except for the pumpkins! We were looking forward to getting some cute pictures of Eli at the pumpkin patch with a pumpkin or two, and well... Eli was just not for that.

Eli's first encounter with a pumpkin...
not a hit!

Tried a different spot, different pumpkins...
still not a hit!

My handsome hubby

Well if we can't get a picture with pumpkins,
we can just take some with out!

Tasting the grass, now Eli did like that!

silly

Hi!

Picture with mom :-)
(see where his teeth are about to come in!)

Eli also liked sitting on the rocks by the pots for us to take pictures.

Cute, slobbery boy

Handsome

On our way out, we thought one more try.
Maybe he has calmed down
and will like the pumpkins now?....nope.

Only a fan of pumpkins from a safe distance!
Although we didn't get a cute pumpkin picture we did get some cute pictures of our own little pumpkins playing together!

Eli and Carter!
Lets both eat the block!

Looking up at Matt

Cute friends!
Thanks for another great FFFD, Matt, Erin, Cade and Carter! We are already looking forward to next year!

Eli- 7 months!

Wow! Another month has passed already! I can not believe it is October and Eli is seven months old, time is flying by!

This past month Eli has been chatting up a storm. I think he is going to be quite the talker like his daddy! Most of his talking is just baby chatter, but I do think he knows what he is trying to say sometimes.

Words I think he can say:
Daddy: Da da
Mama: Mmmmmaaa mmaa
All done: Ah Da
Hi

Eli understands the concept of greeting hello and saying good bye. He will wave sometimes. He loves to look at pictures of himself on the phone, camera, or computer. He especially loves to watch videos of himself. He gets a real big kick out of it...and so does everyone watching. He will talk to the video of himself, it is really funny.

Cutie!

Hi!!
Eli is still scooting around, not quite crawling yet....but he is getting more adventurous in his scooting, especially to find me! He is sitting like a champ! It is nice to be able to use the high chairs when we go out  to eat! Eli is starting to get his bottom 2 teeth in, and loves to chew on everything. He isn't fussy about it, he just likes to make a slobbery mess...especially if I am wearing a necklace, he love to munch on it! He is  absolutely loving eating baby food. He has liked everything we have given him. His favorite is carrots! Oh how he longs to eat big people food! When we are eating a meal he stares at our food with longing eyes, and makes a chewing motion with his mouth. One day we will share with you buddy!

Sitting like a pro, smiling through his passie!

Yummy!

Sweet smile!

Waking up to Uncle Caleb :)

Everyone loves you Eli! You are such a blessing to everyone around you. You are so happy, smiley, and sweet. We are so thankful for you and the all the joy you bring to our little family!

Artsy Fartsy Friday- Home Making

Lately, all of my artsy, creative, and painting skills have all been going towards making our house a home. However, we did recently make a piece of art for our guest bedroom. I saw this idea on pinterest and loved it! I initially wanted to make the pallet board art and paint the word "art" on it to hang over my art desk, but we have recently been working on our guest room, and I thought it would go better in there.

Pallet board reassembled and ready for paint!

Finished product hanging up!

I love it!

I have to give most of the credit for this project to Myles. He is the one who did all the hard work of disassembling and reassembling the pallet board. I did hammer a couple of nails, but beside that all I did was paint "love" on it.

I really love the way it turned out! I think the wood looks so neat and has so much character. Thanks for making my project possible, Myles! And thanks pinterest for the great ideas!

BIG HUNK!

About a week and a half ago, we took a little trip down to college station to see some of our favorite people in the world, the Feldmans. While getting gas before we left, I decided some snackies were needed for our fun road trip. I ask Myles what he would like, and like he does often, he responded with, "I don't care"...however, he soon added to that phrase, "surprise me, get me something I have never had before." For the average person that may not be a hard task, but Myles tries weird things all the time, so this was a challenge! I went inside and the challenge was on!

One item I was particularly drawn to because of its name... BIG HUNK! I thought it was hilarious, I had to get it for my own hunk of a man! Sure enough, the BIG HUNK was a big hit, and was totally new to Myles. Besides the fact that it was really hard to bite into and chew, it was actually pretty good. The taste reminded us of those little white peanut butter candies...you know with the black stripes on the wrapper. So if you are ever in the mood to try something new...and really chewy, give the BIG HUNK a try!

YUM!
See, chewy...Trying to get it out of his teeth. lol.
What a HUNK!

Oh, I love life with him! He makes everything so fun!

Eli's Room- Bumper pad

Since we have moved and gotten semi settled, I thought it was time to start working on Eli's bedding. Especially since he has been sleeping in his room for a while now and hits his head on the crib railing and sticks his arms and legs out though the spaces. Yep, it was time to get that boy a bumper pad before he got himself stuck!

When I was pregnant looking at nursery decor, different bumper pads/ baby bedding, and such, I decided I would make my own. The ones I found that I like were on pottery barn's website, and I thought they were a little pricy. So I thought, I'll just make it myself...no big deal right? Well of corse, I can't do the simple thing and just find one fabric I like and make the bumper pad from that...no I decide that several different fabrics in stripes would be cute. And it is cute. But it took forever!! By the time I was about done piecing the stripes together, I thought whatever price pottery barn asked for their bumper pad and other baby bedding was sounded pretty good....but I had to press on and finish!

I am almost done, I just have to sew the ends and add the button straps to hold it in place. I think it turned out pretty cute! Eli loves all the colors!

6 months!

Eli is six months now, and I can't believe we are half way to a year old! This past month, Eli has learned a lot and has had many new firsts!

Eli has learned how to sit, pretty much by himself, he still falls over some.

Big boy sitting by himself!
Hey mom!
Eli can has also learned how to scoot around. Its not quite a full fledge crawl yet, more of an army crawl. He uses his hands and arms along with his feet and knees. He loves to chase his fish on wheels, and truck around :)

On Eli's six month birthday, we celebrated with his first bowl of baby food! He has eaten rice, applesauce, and oatmeal/ banana. He loves it all!! He is thinking he is a pretty big boy, and always wants some of what we are eating or drinking!

ohhh, a spoon!
I love to chew on everything!
Yum, yum!
He was trying to get to Myles's drink. The boy loves cups!
This is how I found Eli on the morning of his six month bday!
When I put him to sleep, the bird is sitting up in the corner far away
from where I lay him down. I guess he wanted a friend to snuggle with, lol!
So cute :)
"Why are you taking a picture, mom?"

Some of my favorite pictures from this past month!

I told you I love to chew on everything!

Silly face!

Excuse my feet, we were playing superman!!

I love his cheeks!

Handsome boy!

Eli always greets me with a smile when he wakes up :)

Eli is such a happy boy! He is pretty much all smiles. He loves to play with people and is so cute to play with. It is fun to see him start to really learn who people are, and greet them with a big ol' smile! I also love to watch Myles play with Eli. They have so much fun together! They play the "I'm gonna get ya" game, and Eli will start to laugh in anticipation before Myles has even touched him. It is so funny :)
We love you sweet boy!!
